There are two ways to install ClockWorkMod onto the Vi40 Elite. The Procedures are as follows:
Installing ClockWorkMod (CWM) to the Vi40 Elite
Download this zip folder & save it. CWM link:
Option # 1:
1.) Make sure the ADB drivers are properly installed on your PC ! 2.) Plug the tablet -with Debugging enabled- to your PC 3.) Unzip the file and execute "install_recovery_for_ICS.bat"

Option #2:
If for some reason the first option does not work, do this & I GUARANTEE IT WILL WORK !!!
1.) Download & Save this file (A10_Recovery.zip) :
This is the CWM for "A10" processors, which is what the Vi40 is running on.
2.) Install a terminal emulator app to execute the script (command line.) I used "Android Terminal Emulator" (pictured below) from the Google Play Market.

3.) Unzip the "A10_Recovery.zip" & save it to the ROOT of you SD card. 4.) Launch the "Android Terminal Emulator" app & then do the following exactly !!!
-Type "su" (no quotes) & hit enter.
-Type "sh /sdcard/install-recovery.sh" (no quotes) & hit enter.
-Type "sh /sdcard/reboot-recovery.sh" (no quotes) & hit enter.
NOTE: a space goes after "sh" on the 2nd & 3rd above commands.
After that your tablet will reboot into "CWM Recovery"! Now if you need to get to CWM again. Create a script in the "Android Terminal Emulator" app & launch it from there. I have read a few ways of trying boot into CMW with the different button press combinations, to no avail. It did not work for me, but doing option #2 & then executing the script from the app worked for me.... Hope this helped you out... DRU.
