DISABLE  Driver  Signature  Enforcement

Now, in order to install the Vi40 drivers we need to do something first. We need to "DISABLE DRIVER SIGNATURE ENFORCEMENT". To do that, depends on which version of Windows you have. The following are the ways to do this, according to system: (*NOTE - THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY ! UPON RESTART/REBOOT OF PC/LAPTOP, DRIVER SIGNATURE ENFORCEMENT WILL BE TURNED BACK ON !!!*)

If you have ever loaded Safe Mode in any version of Windows before, this WILL DEFFINITLY look familiar. In this case, the option we are looking for is a new option near the bottom called "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement". Use the arrow keys to highlight it and then press the ENTER key. Windows will load like normal, but now Driver Signature Enforcement will be OFF (Again, only temporarily, until next restart/reboot.)

 

Windows  7 :

Upon booting of PC/Laptop, press the F8 function key a few times until you get to the following boot menu :

 

Windows  8  RP & CP (Release Preview & Consumer Review) :

  • Click ‘More PC Settings’/‘Change PC Settings’.

  • Click ‘General’.

  • Scroll down, and click ‘Restart now’.

  • Click â€˜Advanced startup’.

  • Click ‘Troubleshoot’.

  • Click ‘Advanced Options’.

  • Click ‘Windows Startup Settings’ / "Startup Settings".

  • Click Restart.

When your computer restarts, select "Disable driver signature enforcement" from the list. It should be option # "7". You can use the number keys or function (F7) keys to select the option. Windows will start now with driver signature disabled. Again, only temporary until next restart. (Below are some images of the restart. My apologies for the crappy resolution as I have not found a successful way to screen capture in settings portion of Windows 8, yet...) You can now successfully load & install the Onda Drivers. Please refer to "Driver Installation" tab at the top of this page, in the menu & click on it to continue installation of the Onda drivers…      DRU.

It is a bit more difficult to turn off driver enforcement for the latest version of Windows, BUT IT CAN BE DONE, rest assured, LoL ! Do the following to complete the process:
